Wisconsin Prosthetics and Orthotics was originally created, as Wisconsin Orthopedic Appliance Co., in Milwaukee in 1951 by Joe Pungarcher, himself an amputee. After one year he moved his business to Green Bay where the original office remains today. In 1975 a longtime employee, Raymond Gustin C.P., also an amputee, purchased the company along with his partner Jack Weldon C.P. Together they successfully ran the practice as a single location. In 1983 Brian Gustin, C.P. joined his fathers practice taking over the practice in 1988, From this point forward the business grew outside of Green Bay to it’s current locations including a mobile service to outlying areas. In 2006 WPO was purchased Physiotherapy Corporation, a nationally based O&P and outpatient rehabilitation service provider. WPO proudly joined with our sister company ACTRA Orthotics and Prosthetics to become one of the largest O&P providers in the state of Wisconsin offering 10 locations statewide. Together with ACTRA we are able to provide patients with the utmost of care close to their homes, allowing our patients the ability to LIVE LIFE BETTER Surviving in business for over 50 years shows Wisconsin Prosthetics and Orthotics dedication to those it serves and the communities that it is located in.
